But I was right about Thunderbolt. I've been reading rumors that Apple may discontinue the Mac Pro. And what makes that possible? That's right - Thunderbolt. There are already expansion chassis available for the rest of the Mac lineup. So technically, the Mac Pro is unnecessary.
I have to say, I didn't really see this coming. But it makes sense. If it happens, I'll miss the Mac Pro. But hopefully it won't signal the continued trend of Apple seemingly abandoning products for the high-end creative professional.
I'm dreaming of a really large touchscreen Mac - something I'm sure many artists are waiting for. Like a Wacom tablet on steroids. Let's wait and see...
